The foundation is in place. Engineering alliances are signed. A startup company is incorporated. A major offtake agreement is under milestone confirmation. This section outlines the elements that ensure Desert Power® is investment-ready — and deliverable.

🧱 Engineering & Construction

  • Per Aarsleff A/S has been appointed as execution partner for construction (EPC). Aarsleff is Denmark’s largest contractor by project value and brings extensive experience in large-scale international infrastructure.
  • Sweco Danmark A/S is part of the steering group. Sweco is a division of Scandinavia’s largest consulting engineering company, providing environmental, civil and process design services to the project.

🏢 Company Formation & Investment Vehicle


To enable early-stage equity investment and structured fundraising, a project vehicle has been incorporated in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). This legal entity allows Desert Power® to issue shares and raise startup capital from regional and international investors.

📦 Offtake Commitment – Milestone Letter

A milestone declaration from New Fuel A/S confirms that Desert Power® methanol production is effectively pre-sold. This offtake milestone supports financial planning and enhances investor confidence by securing revenue streams ahead of construction start.

The Desert Power® project has been thoroughly modelled using conservative assumptions and standard project finance methodology. The design estimate is based on a full-scale plant producing 970,000 tons per year of IMPCA- and ISCC-certified methanol.

  • Total investment costs: €1.778 billion
  • Internal Rate of Return (IRR): 15.4%
  • Internal Rate of Return on Equity (IRRE): 38.8%
  • Break-even methanol price: €231 per ton
